Fewer lines, more world

Signals are now real buoys, zones glow instead of being outlined, and comets sink gently into planets.

Lately, Orbit had become full of rings, arcs and outlines. With 0.149 we’re cleaning up: whatever belongs to the world should look like part of it.

A signal buoy in Orbit, its ring of lights shows the progress

Signal buoys

A signal is now a real buoy: antenna dish, solar wings, blinking light. Instead of two circles, a warm glow shows how far the reception reaches. It brightens once you’re inside. Progress runs as a ring of lights around the buoy, and a data beam travels to your ship.

Light instead of lines

Nests, relics and the gate now glow softly instead of being outlined. The targeting cone is a fan of light like a searchlight. Around your ship, only what you really need in a fight remains.

Comets

Comets now have a real, tumbling rock nucleus and sit slightly out of focus in the distance. When one falls into a planet, it no longer crashes with a flash. It sinks in, gets smaller and smaller, and a small cloud of dust rises.

All details are in the patch notes.
