Overview

The Game

RAYCION is a bullet hell shooter: enemies fill the screen with projectile patterns, your ship fires on its own — your job is to fly through the gaps, jump at the right moment and build up your ship wisely during the run.

Play now

Dodging is everything

Your hitbox is just a small core in the middle of the ship. In focus you fly slowly and precisely, and every weapon switches into its own, harder-hitting mode. Grazing projectiles charges up combo and flow.

Jump, Nova, Reprise

The jump makes you briefly invulnerable, the nova clears the screen, and the ion chamber collects resonance from grazes and shield hits that you send back as a reprise volley.

Build up during the run

Level-ups bring skill points, weapon levels and a boon every five levels. At level 5 your weapon chooses its upgrade path, and from level 10 its improved form is within reach.

Permanent progress

You take ions and element stones back to the hangar — for new weapons, jumps, defenses, weapon talents and stronger upgrade paths. Every flight also raises your ship level.

Game modes

Arcade

Fifty sectors upward. A guardian with its escort every five, enemies moving up generation by generation from sector 11, and the Core waiting in sector 50.

Orbit

An open star system of three rings. Mine and sell ore, take on contracts at stations, secure zones — and pass through the gate to the Core with both key halves.

Co-op

Arcade and Orbit for two — on the same screen or online with a room code.

In development

Track

Your own song is meant to drive enemies, patterns and firepower. In development — coming in a later update.

Co-op

Two players in Arcade and Orbit — on the same screen or online. Each flies their own ship with their own weapon, jump and defense; you share XP, lives and boons. A downed ship drifts as a wreck — your partner can salvage it before a shared life is lost.

  • Couch co-op via the CO-OP card or “Join” in the loadout screen
  • Keyboard + mouse against a controller, or two controllers
  • Online co-op from the main menu with a room code — each player with their own ship and hangar progress
  • 1P plays in blue, 2P in orange — right down to the projectiles
  • Much more incoming fire than solo: co-op is a real challenge
