News
News from development — new modes, weapons and everything worth knowing. The complete list of changes lives in the patch notes.
Much smoother: explosions, effects and long flights
The game runs about a third faster in dense fights, no longer slows down over flight time, and the "Glow: Off" setting finally works.
Orbit+ gets a galaxy
15 systems on a map, from the rim to the core. Liberate a system and you open the way to the next.
Orbit+ gets weight: legendaries with their own effect
Ten legendary effects, stronger properties, marks for upgrading, and ore that no longer expires at the end of a flight.
The quest log: track up to three contracts
Orbit now has a quest log and colored target markers for tracked contracts. Plus, a lot of equipment that barely did anything now works.
Steer by tilting: tilt controls for phones
On your phone you can now steer the RAYCION with the motion sensor if you like. Just tilt.
60 new boons and missions at every station
Chain Shot, Boomerang, Sticky Charge and 57 more boons for wild combinations, plus rotating missions with bounties, raids and sieges.
Your ship grows with you, and the game runs faster
Visible add-on parts, equipment in quality tiers, bandit outposts with rotating turrets, a laser with hot spots and three times faster drawing.
Orbit+: the loot hunt begins
A new mode with loot in five rarities, nine equipment slots and danger levels 1 to 5. The game also runs much smoother, especially on laptops.
Guardians come rarely, and you'll remember them
Bigger, named, with four phases and two fighting styles. The Blade charges straight through you, the Hammer makes it rain.
A living Orbit: planets, comets, components and weapons in balance
The sky turns, comets crash into planets, wrecks yield parts for the Hangar, and every weapon now has its own strength and weakness.
Online co-op is here
Fly together over the internet with a four-character room code — each of you with your own ship and your own progress.
Orbit update: warp, drill laser and seven new enemies
An emergency exit for when you're surrounded, a drill laser for the asteroids, a shop with a shopping cart and enemies that telegraph their attacks — plus an options menu.
One planet, one secret: every flight is different
Every Orbit system now has its own planet with a secret effect, plus headlights, the random weapon and 48 achievements in four tiers.
Fewer lines, more world
Signals are now real buoys, zones glow instead of being outlined, and comets sink gently into planets.
Couch co-op is here
Two ships, one screen — keyboard and mouse against a controller, your own loadout for each player and a balance that’s a real challenge.
