With versions 0.47 to 0.53, RAYCION got couch co-op for two.
How to start
Mode selection now has a CO-OP card. One click and player 2 is already in the loadout screen. You play with keyboard and mouse against a controller — or with two controllers. Who uses which device can be swapped with a single click.
Everyone chooses for themselves
Both players pick their weapon, jump and defense in the same rows of cards. A blue frame marked 1P and an orange one marked 2P show who took what. The flight only starts once both have reported “ready”.
Blue and orange
1P flies in blue, 2P in orange — right down to the projectiles, the muzzle flash and the ring around the ship. Each player has their own status corner: 1P bottom left, 2P bottom right, with weapon, hull and shield.
Down doesn’t mean out
A ship that gets shot down drifts as a wreck. If the partner flies into it and holds position for a moment, the ship is back with half its hull. Only when both are down or the timer runs out does it cost a shared life.
Co-op should be a challenge
At first, playing together was too easy: two ships split the incoming fire, and salvaging caught almost every loss. Now enemies fire more often and more densely in co-op, hits hurt more and salvaging takes longer — scaled by difficulty. The exact values are in the co-op article in the wiki.
Have fun on the couch!
