Wreck graveyards in Orbit. Every ring now holds a graveyard built from Benni’s artwork. Get close and you’ll find twelve pieces drifting there — three large, five medium, four small — with three large, dark derelict hulls behind them as backdrop, so you can spot the place from a distance.
- Shooting them down drops loot: every piece drops ore and ions; large ones also drop a wreck part, with a 35 % chance of a capsule and an 8 % chance of a token (“radio beacon recovered”); medium ones have a 20 % chance of a capsule or otherwise an 18 % chance of a repair kit.
- Cover: large and medium pieces block shots, like obsidian — including enemy fire.
- No respawning: every piece has its place. Damage one and fly off, and you’ll find it still damaged when you come back; destroyed pieces stay gone until the graveyard is cleared out.
- Shows light grey on the system map (pale once looted), with a location marker, and counts toward charting.
Locations now keep their distance (Benni’s request): until now every location was placed purely at random in the ring — two stations could end up overlapping. Now minimum distances apply: station to station 2,600 px, graveyard to graveyard 2,400, relic to relic 1,500, hive to hive 1,800, station to hive 1,400. Measured across twelve generated systems: stations never closer than 2,620 px, graveyards never closer than 2,588, relics never closer than 1,533. In the cramped inner ring, there isn’t always enough room for hives — there, two ended up as close as 1,441 px, still more than a screen’s diagonal.
