Weapon targeting system in Orbit. Weapons there used to be turrets: every shot turned toward the nearest enemy, in any direction. Now they only aim forward — within a 60° aim cone on each side. Inside it, the ship still auto-aims; without any aim assist at all, a bullet hell wouldn’t be playable without a mouse.
- You aim by flying. The ship turns to face its flight direction, and the cone turns with it. Whatever’s behind you doesn’t get shot at, and the ship no longer fires into empty space.
- Three modules at the stations, for tokens: Targeting Gyro (1 token, 100° per side), Targeting Computer (2 tokens, 150°), Omni-Targeting (3 tokens, all directions). They don’t need a module slot — they sit in the weapon, not the hull, and show up as their own row on the SHIP tab.
- Homing weapons are exempt: missiles, the Drone Swarm and anything steered by the Homing boon attack in every direction, just like in the sector.
- Visible on the ship: a thin arc with two lines shows the cone, brighter whenever a target is inside it. The SHIP tab shows the angle as a number.
- Arcade and Track stay as they were: turrets there still fire all around.
- Measured: with a 45° base cone, experience per hour at a nest in the middle ring dropped to a seventh — hence 60°. That puts hunting back in its usual range.
