Focus: aim tighter, hit harder — and every weapon shifts gears. Until now, focus mode in Orbit switched off aim assist entirely (turrets just fired straight ahead), damage only increased with the Precision Mode skill, and no weapon besides the Swarm felt any different in focus.
- A tight cone instead of none: in focus, aim assist now only catches what’s almost dead ahead (35 % of the cone, at least 10°). The cone turns magenta, and a bracket marks the target. What you can actually fire at still uses the full cone — focus makes you more precise, not more restricted.
- More damage for every weapon, on top of Precision Mode.
- Every weapon now has its own focus behavior:
- Pulse · Bundled Fire: all barrels bundle into one line from the nose, 45 % faster, +1 pierce, +10 % rate of fire.
- Heavy Gun · Choke Bore: the spread tightens to barely a third of its width, faster pellets, 60 % more recoil. The shotgun turns into a slug gun.
- Ion Laser · Focal Point: a narrow beam on a single target that heats up almost twice as fast.
- Homing Missiles · Lock-On: every missile targets whatever’s dead ahead, 50 % faster, a tighter, harder-hitting impact.
- Snake Gun · Straightened: barely any wave left in it, 60 % faster, +2 pierce.
- Drone Swarm · Dive Attack: as before — the swarm dives in a tight cluster, now with more damage.
- Measured on a single target (level 5, 300 px): Pulse ×1.32, Heavy Gun ×3.6, Homing Missiles ×1.4, Snake Gun ×1.25, Ion Laser ×1.34, Drone Swarm ×2.8.
- The focus line in the HUD now names the weapon’s focus behavior, and so does the weapon-select screen.
