See hits land on your own ship, and an auto-aim you have to earn.
- The shield is now shown right on the ship: the shield bubble wraps the ship as an arc, as long as there’s shield left — a full circle when it’s topped up, and it visibly grows back while recharging. You no longer need to check the bar in the bottom left for it.
- Hits show exactly where they land: the bubble lights up right where the hit came from, with sparks at that spot. Overshield glows white-gold.
- Shield down: when it breaks, the bubble visibly shatters into pieces. After that, a red dashed outline flickers around the ship, and a gray arc shows how long until the shield starts recharging. Hits land as orange-red flashes on the hull instead, and the ship flashes red.
- Auto-aim in Orbit: aim yourself (right stick or mouse) and you fire exactly where the nose points. Auto-aim only takes over after 3 seconds without you aiming manually — and starts out slow (around 80°/s), imprecise (±9°), and with a 0.7 s delay locking on. A thin cyan outline shows what it’s targeting. It can be upgraded at outposts with ore, in three tiers (40 / 80 / 140 ore); tier III turns at about 340°/s, spreads only ±1.5°, and locks on in 0.15 s. The targeting modules still decide how far it can reach to the sides. Until now, turrets always aimed perfectly and on their own.
- Telemetry now also tracks how many seconds auto-aim spends active.
