The guardians are 3D warships.
- Instead of flat images, the guardians now fly as real 3D models from the model forge (
scripts/modell.py). Their armour is almost black, and only their magenta glow is saturated. Light slides across the plates as they turn, and they roll along their long axis in curves.- Guardian I “Blade”: a long dagger of a battleship. Two claws reach forward at the bow with a glowing eye slit above them, plus a stepped bridge tower with window slits and glowing veins along the spine. The wings are swept back, twin turrets sit on the hull, and three engines glow at the stern.
- Guardian II “Hammer”: a hammerhead with three spikes and a glowing band, an open, glowing reactor ring on its back, blade wings with saw teeth and two heavy engines.
- The variants still alternate as before. The nose points in the direction of flight, and downward in Arcade as before. Hits make the armour flare up, and slow effects tint it. A drop shadow and a pulsing glow underneath keep the dark armour from disappearing into the background.
- For this, the model forge got a hull building block made from cross-sections (
rumpf, keil) that orients every face’s winding by itself. There are also new texture fields: armour, eye (glowing magenta) and blade (blade steel). Both models are also available in the preview (werkzeug/modelle.html).
