Fewer lines, more world.
- Signal buoys instead of rings: A signal is now a real buoy in space, a 3D model with an antenna dish, solar wings and a blinking light, slowly turning. The reception area is a warm glow that brightens once you are inside, instead of two circles. Progress runs as a ring of lights around the buoy, and a data beam travels to your ship. The two arcs are gone.
- Nests, relics and the gate glow softly instead of being outlined. At a relic, progress also runs as a ring of lights.
- Targeting cone as a fan of light: The cone is now a glow like a searchlight that fades outward, without edge lines. Spread fire no longer draws side lines.
- Tidier around the ship: The skill point hexagon, the two focus outlines and the grey base ring of the Heavy Gun are gone. The dark ring around the ship is now a soft shadow. What remains: the chevrons for new skill points, the hitbox in focus and the charge progress.
- Comets with a real nucleus: The head is a tumbling chunk of rock in a soft coma. Comets and their tails sit slightly out of focus in the background, like depth of field. Planets still bend their paths. A comet that falls into a planet no longer crashes with a flash. It sinks in instead: it gets smaller and smaller, its tail pulls back, and a small cloud of dust rises at the end.
