One planet per system, headlights, random weapon, 48 achievements in four tiers.
- One planet per system, with a secret effect: Orbit now shows a single, randomly rolled planet in the sky. It no longer changes with the ring, only when you jump to the next system. Each of the six planets quietly affects your flight, for example the speed of enemy shots, burn damage, shield recharge, the tractor beam, ore or enemy hulls. The game doesn’t tell you which. Only after three flights under a planet does the end report reveal its effect; until then it reads “effect unknown · research 1/3”.
- Headlights: Two lamps at the bow cast the targeting cone as a beam of light. Its width is that of your installed targeting system, so upgrading it makes the beam grow. The cone is real light: rocks treat it as a light source and brighten on the side facing the ship, and enemies inside it shimmer. The glow now sits behind objects instead of on top of them.
- Random weapon: Once two weapons are unlocked, the selection offers a “Random weapon” card (key 7). The ship draws one of your weapons at launch, and you earn +20 % ions for the whole flight. Not available in co-op.
- Achievements in four tiers: Quick, mid-term, long-term and hardcore, with 19 new achievements (48 in total). New rewards are components and the Glass Cannon mutator: 25 % more damage dealt, 50 % more damage taken, +30 % ions. It is only unlocked through the “Gambler” achievement (ten flights with the random weapon). New counters: components collected, warp jumps, flights with a random weapon, planets seen and deciphered, ore mined, wins on Legend and with Glass Cannon.
- Mouse wheel zoom in Orbit: 80 to 125 %, snaps to 100 % and is kept for the next flight. It only changes the view, not ranges.
- The remaining lines:
- The station has landing lights (twelve lamps with a running light) instead of the docking ring.
- The solar wind front is hot haze instead of three rings. The warning is no longer a line to the core: if you’re exposed, you see dust streaks blowing past you.
- Mortar impacts glow on the ground instead of showing rings and a cross.
- Mines show their radius as a red glow, and the pulsar glows instead of drawing an arc.
- Wanted targets, convoys and the mission target glow instead of being outlined.
- Edge arrows carry a dot instead of a ring.
- The aiming beams of chargers and snipers remain but fade toward the end.
